You love creating exceptional UX clarity. You’re passionate about creating well thought out and designed software. You understand the importance of UI consistency and know that the first prototype often doesn’t end up being the final design.

You’ve got the experience we need. Optimally you have 2 or more years of experience designing web based applications. Most of all you understand how modern web applications should work from a user perspective.

You care how software is used. You have a user-centric world view in your designs. You care how users interact with what you’ve created and are only satisified when they are.

You’re a self-starter and a critical thinker. You’re capable of taking on technical challenges big and small. Sometimes you’ll be working solo on a project, as such; you can work with minimal guidance and seek the best solution.

About RiskLens

We’re RiskLens and we’re changing the way Fortune-500 enterprises measure and manage their cyber security risk. We help organizations quantify their cyber security risk in dollars so it can be managed in business terms.

Our SaaS platform isn’t your run-of-the-mill web app that lets you fill in a form and does nothing else and definitely not another glorified image sharing platform. The RiskLens platform uses Monte Carlo simulations, distributions, the Factor Analysis of Information Risk model and a few other interesting bits to answer real cybersecurity questions.

Our product and software engineering team is a highly collaborative team using agile practices to create world-class software. We’re growing fast and leading the market for quantitative cyber security risk analysis.

What You’ll Be Doing

RiskLens is a rapidly growing startup and you’ll be part of our fast-moving engineering team responsible for building and maintaining out platform. Here are some of the things you’ll be doing day-to-day:

  • Having an outsized impact on the UX direction of the platform.
  • Design new features and working directly with the head of product, product managers, and software engineers.
  • Work to know the domain and iteratively translate that into information architecture, user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to an intuitive user experience.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user experience decisions related to core and new functionality.
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team as well as other teams, but sometimes independently, on new features and improvements.

Required Skills

  • Two or more years experience in UX design. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing enterprise web based applications.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions.
